How to take care of your products:
With any products, there are elements that will damage your artwork.
Prints and canvases are not waterproof. It is best to store or display in a low humidity environment. Also, try to keep them away from extreme heat or extreme cold.
To keep colors from fading, keep all albums, prints, and canvases out of direct or reflected sunlight.
Avoid touching canvas surfaces directly with your hands. The natural oils in your skin may damage the canvas and the inks. The same general rule should be applies when viewing your album. Turn the pages with your fingertips on the edge of the page.
Keep the album closed when it is not being viewed. This will help keep the spine in the best condition.
To clean any of your artwork or albums use a clean, dry lint free cloth or feather duster. Do not use any solvents.
When to book:
- Weddings- Book 6 months to 1 year before your wedding date. This ensures availability and adequate time to schedule an engagement session.
- Maternity- you want to have the session between the 34th and 37th week mark. Your baby bump will be the most prominent without being too uncomfortable.
- Newborns- The shoot should be completed before they’re 2 weeks old. This ensures that they sleep through the shoot and can hold a curled position without discomfort.
- High School Seniors- The shoot can be any time during their senior year. I would highly recommend scheduling for the fall because of the great fall leaf color and the comfortable temperatures outside.
- Family Sessions- Families are constantly growing and changing. We recommend having a full session every two years.
Copyright and You:
An artist’s copyright is protected by federal law. That means that it is unlawful to scan or copy any images taken by Rebecca Watkins Photography without written permission. Rebecca Watkins Photography is the only entity authorized to sell or distribute photos. What this means for you? When you receive any your digital negatives, prints, canvases, albums, or any other of our products, you are provided a release, which allows you to display or print the images for your own personal use. The release is nontransferable and the photographer retains the rights to and ownership of the images. This means you cannot sell or transfer those images under any circumstance. This would include submissions to wedding vendors, wedding blogs, and/or websites (we will happily submit the images on your behalf).
If you have any questions about how copyright works, please don’t hesitate to ask.
