A while back, I photographed Katy & Drew's engagement session in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. One of the backdrops we used was the St. John's Episcopal Church Ruins. Well, that session led Chris to me even BEFORE he proposed to Callie! 
Callie and Chris met in Hawaii (where Callie now lives), but they have spent much of their relationship apart since Chris was stationed in Georgia. Ever since the possibility of becoming engaged, Callie wanted to have the engagement shoot in front of church ruins. This lead to asking around, lots of google searching, the proposal, and finally the shoot! She loved the idea of having the contrast of them in formal wear in front of the ruins. Callie found both of her gorgeous dresses on Rent the Runway! She channeled her former modeling career for the engagement session and looked absolutely killer. Chris didn't look too bad himself. Ha! 

A HUGE thank you to David Aspinwall for being my assistant and light holder extraordinaire and helping me not freaking out about driving next to a sheer drop into the river while getting us lost and then unlost.

Meet Marilyn and Chris, they met back when they were both going to Fairfax High School, and that is when they realized they were meant for each other. High school sweethearts. They are absolutely adorable together. Chris can make Marilyn laugh on cue every time.Last week, I met up with Marilyn and Chris in Clifton, Virginia for their engagement session. It was an absolutely gorgeous autumn day. The trees were such amazing shades of yellow, orange, and red, and the light was absolutely sublime. We were also able to stop into Clifton Cafe for some smoothies, coffee, and a few photos.

Marilyn and Chris- You guys are so cute together! I cannot wait for your wedding this April!!
